ALEJANDRO Barrera, Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista’s opponent this Saturday, and his coach, Victor Hugo Correa, believe Manny Pacquiao will continue his winning romp while Nonito Donaire Jr. will fall.
“Pacquiao will win,” said the 30-year-old cousin of Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera, who will face Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista this Saturday.
“Pacquiao is in a rhythm right now while Mosley is on his way down.”
Correa, a former Olympian and professional fighter, and Barrera also think Donaire Jr.
will suffer his first knockout in the hands of World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization bantamweight champion Montiel.
“Montiel will knock him out in the fifth or fourth round,” said Correa.
Barrera knows Montiel’s capabilities because he had sparred with the decorated Mexican champion.
“I sparred with Montiel and he is very strong,” said Barrera. “His punches feel like you are being kicked.”
Barrera plans on sending the 24-year-old Bautista to the canvas in the fifth round in their rematch.
Bautista won their first encounter after the fight was stopped in the fourth due to a cut on Barrera’s left eyelid.
Barrera has huge plans after he beats Bautista. He wants to challenge interim World Boxing Association super featherweight titlist Jorge Solis and to someday face one of the Mexican greats—Juan Manuel Marquez or Erik Morales.
“I have a dream of one day fighting them, fight someone of their caliber.”
