THE convergence of like-minded people is inevitable. They will want to flock together to revel and celebrate their similarities and tendencies; or engage in different levels of aggression to debate over their distinctness from one another.

Same difference (a manner of speaking, sweetie); the tendency to just hangout and relax is an aberration prevalent in human beings and most animals in the world.

Take for example the hole-in-the-landscape called Kukuk’s Nest along Gorordo Ave. Arm yourselves with an appetite for La Bella Napoli pizza, mosquito repellent lotion and the love for low-key atmosphere and you are all set.

People choose to flock there for the sensible prices or the fact that although it’s a hole-in-the-landscape they serve great food. You can walk away every night with the right buzz minus a burning hole through your wallet.

For some people, finding an establishment that is open during the wee hours of the morning might be the bigger consideration.

Sound Lounge recently opened along Don Avila St., near Capitol.

They feature a live band nearly every night and boasts of being open 24 hours a day, seven days a week! It might sound exhausting, not to mention loud, to members of the age bracket of 50 and up, but as the young and upwardly mobile say, “when you gotta go, you gotta go.” Going to different places, for a change, might not be so true to most creatures of habit and it’s hard to break away from Formo’s safe haven.

Rarely do the settings change; maybe that’s why people notice the content. The staff makes you feel at home. And like being home, you’re well taken care of, even if you whine, oh heck, ask nicely or demand, for more or better, this or that.

The variety of attributes each person may possess may be assorted, like nuts or candy. It depends on their personalities, acquaintances or experiences. In the case of Joker’s Arms, one attribute that is common with its patrons is the pursuit of the perfect hang out.

This comes near to perfect with reasonably priced drinks and sturdy tables and chairs made of solid wood giving it an English pub feel and look. The “fun zone,” comprised with wall-to-wall flat-screen TVs, gorgeous billiard tables and darts, lets you take on friends in a round of games.

The pursuit of a great time is not an easy task. Even if you toss in a few drinks and thought- provoking conversation; this does not guarantee a great time. What you are given is another opportunity to try, and try again. Until you get it right. Now that sounds like fun.
