Talisay hosts Rapid Fire

EXPECT fireworks tonight at the Talisay Sports Complex as the newest promotional outfit in Cebu, DTT Events and Promotions, unleashes its debut event the “Rapid Fire... Binukbokay!” featuring some of the most promising young fighters in the Philippines.

Ruther del Castillo, the younger brother of Rollen del Castillo, takes on young upstart Reil Mandate in an eight-round fight.

Del Castillo, who is based in Manila under Rigside Stable, vowed to put on a good show for the Talisay boxing fans.

“I assure you someone will be knocked out in this fight,” said the 22-year-old Mandaue City native in an interview with Sun.Star Cebu.

Del Castillo is 12-4 with six knockouts, while Mandate of the Omega Boxing Stable is 5-1 with three knockouts.

Experience

“I will use my experience because he is still new to the sport,” said del Castillo.

However, Mandate, a replacement for his undefeated stablemate Jayson Canoy, is unfazed by his experienced opponent.

“I have never stopped training. I will try my best to win this fight,” said the 22-year-old native of Libac, Sultan Kudarat.

In the undercard, hometown fighter Andy Senerez faces Jerpaul Valero in a six -rounder, while light middleweights Jaime Siscon and Tiger Tyrus face each other in a six round match.

Other fignts in the undercard are the four-round fights between Memar Dula and Rey Villar, Jeffrey Segara and Ariel Adan, Sary Canonigo and Ervin Yamo, and Delmar Cabatas against Dionilo Salvador.

There will also be 12 amateur bouts from some of the best amateur fighters in Cebu.

The event starts at 6 p.m.
