UV and UC will try to wrap up the Best-of-3 semifinal series when they play Game 2 today at 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. respectively.
However, CIT, the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. champion is expected to miss the services of its most important player, Mark Jayven Tallo.
Tallo was rushed to the hospital after he fell on the floor early in the final period.
Tallo was back pedaling when he lost his footing and hit the back of his head on the floor.
“He’s still under observation. Nasapid iya shoes pag atras mao to nabunal iya ulo,” said Tallo’s father Mark, who is also a former PBA player.
According to the father, his son had a fever but was forced to play as his services were badly needed by the team.
The senior Tallo admitted that he got worried after seeing his son fall and go into a spasm briefly.
Despite not finishing the game, Tallo was the second best scorer of CIT with eight points.
Meanwhile, the collegiate semifinal series will start today with San Marino Corned Tuna-University of San Carlo Warriors facing the PTT Fuel-UV Green Lancers at 4 p.m.
The other semis will pit USJ-R and the winner between UC and the University of Southern Philippines.
