In this connection, FLI vice president for Vis-Min, Tristan Las Marias, mentions that it is part of FLI’s corporate social responsibility to come up with environmentally concept projects of preserving and protecting marine sanctuaries.

So, they teamed up with East West Bank in presenting a one-night photo exhibit in Cebu City Marriott Hotel featuring the masterpieces of two noted underwater photographers from Cebu.

One is Hitoshi Onozawa, a Japanese who comes from a family of divers and runs his own underwater videography business for the past 30 years.

On the other hand, Cebu-based Erwin Lim, a dentist by profession, and well-renowned photographer, contributes to Mabuhay Magazine.

Entitled, “Underwater,” the awesome marine life was an amazing eye-opener. The public was invited to purchase these photos for a token price of P1,000, the proceeds of which would go to City First lady Margot Osmeña’s street children’s foundation.

Of course, the photos were gobbled up in minutes! Some lucky guys won them in a raffle.

Has it been 12 years? So asked winsome Susan Calero, a nurse by profession, but now managing a bustling RTW (or
ready-to-wear) company called INDIVI Designer Trends.

Yes, it has been a successful 12 years, and my, did the time just fly! Susan gathered her staff, and a sprinkling of kith, kin and friends, to her Labangon residence-cum-dress shop, and celebrated!

She had just been swamped with an order of school uniforms, and was busy as can be, but still managed to mark the day with lechon, pansit, jackfruit, and everything in between.

Happy anniversary to a deserving entrepreneur!

Have you ever sunk your teeth into a 380-gram hamburger?

We did last Sunday when Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa unveiled its latest food festival, Stars and Stripes: An American Food festival at the Tides restaurant. Guest of honor, Ambassador of the US to the Philippines Kristie A. Kenney did a ceremonial slicing of the biggest burger we’ve seen, as large as a pizza!

The fest will be open starting July 4 and 11, dinner only; and July 5 and 12, lunch only. Celebrate US Independence and US-
Philippines Friendship Day, with a fabulous American buffet of new twists to well-loved classics. Complimentary wine tasting of Beringer Wines!
