Five branches in Tagum City and one in Digos City were also closed.
BIR Regional Director Perfecto Aranas said the establishments were closed after a series of surveillances were made.
"Nagkaroon ng surveillance and lumabas na they under-declared P29 million when we verified," Aranas said, adding that the surveillance and verifications made were based on the National Internal Revenue Code.
He said the establishments also failed to issue receipts and their cash registers were not registered with the BIR.
"May mga receipts nga sila na blank. These establishments will be closed for five days kaya kung magbayad man sila agad, 'yun pa rin ang minimum," Aranas said.
BIR Legal and Inspection Group Deputy Commissioner of Internal Revenue Gregorio Cabantac said the gesture was done to warn establishments to declare and pay their taxes.
"Hindi lang ito dito, example ito sa mga taong di nagbabayad ng tama and they should also instill discipline. Dapat ang iba din, they gave to check on their accountants para malaman nila," Cabantac said in an interview.
He said their "Oplan Kandado" or operation padlocked project is done to show their sincere effort to implement the law.
