"We thank the people of Region 11 (Southern Mindanao) and the Socsksargen Region for providing a second home to our soldiers," Division Commander Major General Reynaldo B. Mapagu said in thanking all those who have supported them for the past three years.
"The people's support and trust serve as our principal anchor and inspiration as we continue to serve this country with the highest level of dignity and loyalty," Mapagu said.
Mapagu thanked his soldiers to renew their commitment to defend the people and protect the communities from all threats.
"I ask my fellow soldiers to serve the same sense of urgency in their missions, to continue respecting and defending the rights of the people, and upholding the rule of law, and to continue dreaming of peace," Mapagu said.
A Eucharistic mass was celebrated by the officers and men in thanksgiving. A blessing for the newly repaired and constructed buildings and newly acquired building followed.
An awarding ceremony was also held. Soldiers who exemplified leadership were recognized and plaques of recognition were given to maneuver units, combat service support units, and non-government and private organizations who contributed to the 10th ID.
The 10th ID will also commemorate the outcome of the activities, such as sports tournaments and blood donation drive they had with other law-enforcement agencies, tri-media, businessmen, and civilian friends.
A photo and static exhibit will be launched on August 18-20 at the SM Mall and Matina Town Square to form part of 24th Kadayawan Festival. (JCZ)
