Maguindanao Police Provincial Office (MPPO), in its report, said two unidentified men onboard an XRM motorcycle lobbed a grenade at the residence of Baimona Ampatuan, a principal at the Sharrif Aquak National High School at around 6:45 p.m.
MPPO Senior Superintendent Alex Linesses said before the incident that an armed group was demanding revolutionary taxes from the school.
The principal reportedly declined to give money, which may be the motive for the incident, Linesses said.
Linesses added that the police have already named several suspects who are linked with Maguindanao’s known rebel group. (Edgardo Fuerzas)
