POLICE filed charges against three men and a woman who were caught in the act having a pot session in Quezon Boulevard, Davao City late last month.
Charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were Tyron Ong Yap, 58, a resident of Purok 37-C, Quezon Boulevard; Ruel Ybañez Paculan, 33, a resident of Barangay 31-D, Mabini in Quezon Boulevard; Jocelyn Dandan Amarille, 24; Benhur Benito Menjuita, 28; and Shairan Yap Paglinawan, all of Quezon Boulevard, Davao City.

They were charged based on the accounts of PO3 Rodel Asupan and PO2 Marlon Donquilab of the Sta. Ana Police station.
In an affidavit, they said at 12:12 a.m. of October 31, a concerned citizen called up their office and informed them of a shabu pot session inside a house of a certain Tatay Tyrone located at purok 7 in Barangay 37.
They then immediately formed a team to verify the information. When they arrived in the area, a man pointed to house where they saw the suspects having a pot session.
They then introduced themselves as police officers and arrested them.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were one aluminum foil strip, two pieces tooter, lighters and sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride otherwise known as shabu.
The suspects are now detained at the Sta. Ana Police station.
