WITH 99.06 percent of the 1,172 clustered precincts counted, Davao City Vice Mayor Sara Duterte leads the mayoral race with more than 222,653 votes against closest rival, House Speaker Prospero Nograles.
As of 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sara got 380,268 votes against Nograles' 157,615 votes.
In the vice mayoral race, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is leading with 431,244 over his rival former mayor Benjamin de Guzman with 103,963.
Supporters of the Dutertes went to the City Council session hall Tuesday where the Board of Canvassers was and to wait for the proclamation of the father-daughter tandem.
There are eight areas in the city, mostly in the hinterlands, which have yet to transmit election results.
Davao City election officer Danilo Cullo said distance and absence of communication signal caused the transmission delay of election results from polling precincts.
Cullo made a decision to declare the results as official, stating the remaining margin "had little and insignificant effect to the results even if they are added to the onhand result."
"We have called the main office in Manila to allow us to proclaim. We have no definite time when we can finish all the consolidation. Parang hindi na magagawa talaga, so the board have agreed that we will allow a declaration," Cullo said.
The proclamation comes after the final printing of results.
Partial results
For the mayoralty position, unpopular candidates Rodrigo Buezon got 2,153 votes, Rodrigo Sulamin with 1,898, and Magdaleno Marcellones with 1,603.
For the first congressional district race, Karlo Alexie Nograles got 98,929 votes, followed by City Councilor Ma. Belen Sunga-Acosta with 90,750. They are followed by Jocelyn Duterte with 11,787 votes, Robert Olanolan with 5,322, Juan Zamora with 347, Bernard Custodio with 263, and Anacleto Millendez with 199.
In the second congressional district, Mylene Garcia got 60,299 votes, City Councilor Diosdado Mahipus got 42,116, Joji Bian got 41,163, Danilo Dayanghirang got 33,115, and Dexter Alcebar got 485 votes.
Re-electionist third district Representative Isidro Ungab took the lead with 61,927, followed by Ruy Elias Lopez with 41,888, Wilberto Al-Ag with 21,489, Victorio Advincula with 9,582, Gregorio Canada with 7,335, and Gregardo Braganza with 784 votes.
For the members to the City Council from the first district, former City Administrator Wendel Avisado has a clear lead from other candidates with his 117,283 votes.
Also members from the first district is Leah Librado with 96,768 votes, Edgar Ibuyan with 94,179, Emmanuel Galicia with 94,142, former City Legal Officer J. Melchor Quitain with 89,788, Nilo Abellera Jr. with 89,711, Jo Anne Bonguyan with 80,976, and re-electionist Pilar Braga with 79,617.
For the council members from the second district, re-electionists Louie John Bonguyan with 99,492, Dante Apostol with 93,856, Tomas Monteverde with 76,284, and Arnolfo Cabling with 75,820 were on top of the list.
They were followed by newcomers Alryan Alejandre with 65,241 votes, Marissa Salvador-Abella with 63,716, Jimmy Dureza with 61,247, and former youth council chair April Marie Dayap with 61,185.
For the third district council members, re-electionists still took the lead starting with Karlo Bello with 87,830 votes, Rachel Zozobrado, with 80,666, Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz with 73,650.
They are followed with Bernard Al-Ag with 71,494 votes, Jose Villafuerte with 70,347, Rene Elias Lopez with 61,495, Conrado Baluran with 61,128, and Victorio Advincula Jr. with 57,159 votes.
r National bets
Former President Joseph Estrada Ejercito led by a huge margin with 247,151 votes from Liberal Party standard bearer Benigno Aquino Jr. who got 200,091 votes.
They were followed by Gilberto Teodoro Jr. who got 52,731 votes, Manuel Villar Jr. with 27,645, Eduardo Villanueva with 14,062, Richard Gordon with 4,041, Vetellano Acosta with 3,743, Jesus Nicanor Perlas with 665, John Carlos De Los Reyes with 594; and Jamby Madrigal with 509.
Estrada's vice presidential bet Jejomar Binay garnered from Davao Voters 272,713, Manuel Roxas with 226,902, Loren Legarda 24,123, Bayani Fernando with 9813, Perfecto Yasay with 6,885, Eduardo Manzano with 4,971, Jose Sonza 989, and Domindor Chipeco with 642.
Senatorial bets who garnered much votes from the locality were Jinggoy Estrada with 358,778 votes, Miriam Defensor-Santiago with 314,566, Juan Ponce Enrile with 290,425, Franklin Drilon with 288,350, Ramon Bong Revilla with 283,246, and Pilar Juliana Cayetano with 251,745.
They are followed by Sergio Osmeña III with 242,330 votes, Teofisto Guingona III with 206,940, Ferdinand Marcos with 202,258, Ralph Recto with 201,278, Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel with 183,478, and Vicente Sotto III with 176,795 votes.
The party-list groups that garnered the most votes in the city is Gabriela Women's Party with 37,916 votes. It is followed by Bayan Muna with 32,969 votes, and the Advocacy for Teacher Empowerment through Action Cooperation and Harmony Towards Educational Reforms that got 26,497.
