CONSTRUCTION at Davao City’s premier shopping and business address has now come into full swing to meet the target completion date in the first half of 2011.

Real estate developer Ayala Land Incorporated (ALI) and homegrown conglomerate Antonio Floirendo Corporation (Anflocor) have joined forces to give Davao City its newest urban enclave on a 10-hectare property in the prime commercial area of J.P. Laurel Avenue in Bajada.

"We experienced delay by about two months due to the production of the concrete piles which was used for the foundation. But now, we are on full blast and back on track in the construction," Alex Valoria, president of Anflocor, told Sun.Star Davao in an interview Thursday.

"Construction is now on going 24 hours a day, seven days a week," he added.

Dubbed as Abreeza, the 10-hectare property will house a luxury shopping mall, business process outsourcing facilities, hotels, and business establishments, and corporate offices.

The development is Ayala's first major entry into Davao's real estate scene and the biggest investment of the Anflocor group in real estate.

"This project is about P4 billion," Valoria said.

This development project is foreseen to boost economic growth of the city, promote progress and to once again fulfill a promise of enhancing land and enriching lives for more Dabawenyos.

At its peak, construction of the premier development will employ an estimated 3,000 workers.

First phase of the high-end Ayala Mall will be completed in the second quarter of 2011 with 35,000 square meters gross leasable area, while the second phase with 26,000 square meters gross leasable area is expected to be finished by the 3rd quarter of 2011.
