DAVAO CITY has captured 30 percent of the total market share of Canon digital cameras in the country.
Alan Chng, Canon Philippines Inc. president and CEO, bared this in an interview Thursday at their second concept store at the third floor of Abreeza Mall.
Chng said the digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras comprise 60 percent of their total sales nationwide.
"More and more people now want to take better pictures and better quality and our sales in DSLR have been growing steadily," he said.
Canon opened its second concept store at the Abreeza Mall on Thursday, the first one located at the second floor of Gaisano Mall.
"We have a total of 17 concept stores all over the country," Chng said, adding they started opening concept stores three years ago.
With the concept store, Canon brings the complete collection of products to customers like he latest Canon cameras, single-function and multi-function printers, consumables and after-sales service.
Known for their unique branding, these concept stores have been established because some entrepreneurs have recognized the potential of collaborating and investing with the imaging leader according to a press statement.
"At Canon, we offer the total imaging solutions. From input to output," Chng said.
Canon continued to extend its reach with the opening of the 17th concept store at Abreeza Mall. Owner Kelly Uy has been in the camera industry for over 20 years and four years in the concept store business.
"Although we already have one at Gaisano Mall of Davao, we believe Abreeza will cater to another market niche," Uy said in a press statement.
He said he chose Abreeza Mall because of its good tenant mix not found in any mall in Davao City.
"Dabawenyos will be delighted to know that this store will carry the same lineup of Canon products, supplementary accessories and promos available in Manila," he added.
To celebrate the launch of Uy's concept store at Abreeza, customers who purchased a Digital IXUS 1000HS get a free Pixma MP258 printer.
