HTC unveils latest innovative smartphones

THERE is a fast growing market for smartphones in the country, prompting mobile phone manufacturers to innovate fast -- with new models replacing the old ones on display windows almost every week.

And Taiwan-based HTC Corp., global leader in mobile innovation and design, doesn't want to be left out, especially in Davao City where smartphone market appeared to have flourished in the past year.

With this, HTC recently opened its concept store at the Gaisano Mall of Davao, its first in Mindanao, with a promise to provide Dabawenyos an access to its latest products and services.

"Davao market is blooming and we want to be a part of it," said HTC Philippines country manager Mark Sergio.

True enough, HTC first launched in June its latest innovative smartphones in the city -- the HTC Sensation and HTC Wildfire S, which carry innovations and new designs. Both products are now available at HTC concept store and other HTC business partners in the city.

In his presentation, Sherman Lui, HTC Corp. marketing manager, said these products have premium design and take multimedia smartphone to another level using Android and HTC Sense experience, boasting a host of new features and enhancements.

HTC Sensation, according to Lui, is a multimedia superphone that "shines a spotlight entertainment with the new HTC Watch video service."

Crafted with premium design lements, Lui said HTC Sensation also features the company's latest HTC Sense experience that puts users "at the center by making their smartphones work in a more simple and natural way."

He said this multimedia superphone takes smartphone use to another level by combining "the great new HTC Watch entertainment experience with the latest HTC Sense experience to deliver a powerful and amazing experience to our customers."

Calling such new product as a multimedia superphone, Lui said HTC Sensation's premium look is enhanced by its rounded edges, aluminum unibody construction. Its touch screen surface is protected by a contoured screen that feels more natural as a finger is glided across it.

The 4.3-inch qHD display delivers high-resolution widescreen viewing and giving the superphone slender proportions that feel natural in a person's hand.

Complementing the smartphone's premium design, according to Lui, is the lates HTC Sense experience that boasts a host of new features and enhancements, helping users to "have more fun and get more done."

"HTC Sense introduces a customizable active lockscreen experience that transforms the lockscreen into a real-time window to the most important information and content, such as social updates, photos, weather or stock updates that are viewed by simply turning on the display," Lui said.

The HTC Sensation's 8-megapixel camera, he said, does not just shoot gorgeous photos, but with the new instant capture feature, lets users capture the moments they want without worrying about missing or keeping up with the action. The superphone also shoots full HD video in 1080p resolution with full stereo sound, at up to 30 frames a second.

HTC Wildfire S, on the other hand, is touted as the "smartphone for everyone." "It is affordable, compact and playful device that packs a powerful smartphone experience," Lui said.

It is one of HTC's smallest phone ever, measuring just 10.13 cm long and 5.94 cm wide and boasts a distinctive 3.2 inch, HVGA display.

This smartphone's home screen is fully customizable with your favorite apps, widgets and content, while a 5-megapixel color camera with auto focus, expandable microSD memory and support for a variety of audio and video formats make for a great all-around multimedia device that slips easily into anhy pocket.
