POEA announces exam for work in Korea

INTERESTED applicants for employment in Korea are required to take the Test of Proficiency in Korean, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Advisory number 3, series of 2012 signed by POEA officer-in-charge Viveca Codamon-Catalig.
POEA-Davao regional director Pinky Agdamag said the 8th Employment Permit System-Test of Proficiency in Korean (EPS-Topik) examination is slated March 18. However, the registration is set February 6-9.

Registration venues are posted at the POEA website at www.poea.gov.ph with e-mail address info@poea.gov.ph. Interested parties may visit POEA Regional Center for Mindanao located at AMYA 11 Building, Quimpo Boulevard, Davao City.
Those who are registered with the POEA Registration System and included in the POEA Manpower Registry will have the priority in registration, Agdamag said.
Those who are presently registered and who have not yet taken or passed the EPS-TOPIK and who are interested to pursue employment in Korea must have an active registration status in order to be included in the manpower pool for Korea.
Qualifications for EPS-KLT Registration (for Korea) are: must be between 18 years of age and not more than 38 years old on March 18, 2012 (those born between March 18, 1974 and March 18, 1994); must be physically and mentally fit; must not have any record of conviction or imprisonment for a heinous crime; must have no record from departure orders from the Republic of Korea; must not be restricted from departure from the Philippines; and must be registered with active status in the POEA Manpower Registry.
Upon registration, applicants should bring valid passport or valid government-issued Identification Card with picture and date of birth such as SSS, GSIS, Driver's license of Voter's ID; bring two pieces passport size colored picture showing a full face with no hat and taken not more than six months before registration; and registration/test fee is US$24 or P1,044.
The conduct of the EPS-TOPIK examination is led by the Human Resource Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) in cooperation with the POEA. (PIA)
