Davao collects P104-M from enterprises in 2011

THE Davao City Government collected a total of P104,399,475 from operation of all city-owned enterprises last year.

Jose Elmero Guintadcan, chief of the City Economic Enterprise and Economic Planning Services, speaking at the regular Kapihan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao, said the city-owned enterprises are public markets, Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT), Sta. Ana port, public cemeteries, Davao City Recreation Center (DCRC), Magsaysay Park and slaughterhouses.

Collection fees from the public markets reached P63,507,483 which comprised the biggest chunk in the total collection fees of the City Government in 2011, the city economic records showed.

The city is composed of eight public markets -- Agdao, Bankerohan, Toril, Mintal, Calinan, Tibungco, Bunawan, and Lasang.

Records also showed that among the eight public markets in the city, the Bankerohan Public Market had the biggest remittance amounting to P23,399,339. The Lasang Public Market had the lowest remittance with P79,929.

Guintadcan reported that Sta. Ana port doubled its collection fees at P7,341,325 in 2011.

The City Government also collected a total of P21,573,445 from DCOTT; P623, 800 from cemeteries; P520,933 from DCRC; P681,695 from Magsaysay Park; P10,132,276 from slaughterhouses.
