TWO budget hotels will open for business soon right at the heart of downtown Davao City and the oldest commercial district that is C.M. Recto St.
Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) head Jason Magnaye said that one of the hotels, the six-storey Hotel Uno, will be opening its doors to guests and tourists this month in time for the 27th Kadayawan Festival.
Aside from Hotel Uno, the Davao Rogienald Corporation will also soon introduce the Brooklyn and Walters Hotel and Mainstreet Claveria along C.M. Recto St. or what is known as Oroderm City.
Magnaye said these business establishments will support the effort to revive Claro M. Recto, the city's busiest and commercial district way back in the 90s.
Hotel Uno, which is being developed by 3S Realty Corporation, is a budget hotel aimed to ceter to travellers, families and friends, and even businessmen who demand conducive relaxation during their stay in the city.
Hotel Uno has a total of 148 rooms, with specific classification in each room to meet the guests’ needs. The rooms are classified as non air-conditioned rooms, single superior, single deluxe, double superior, double deluxe, twin deluxe, junior luxury and luxury sweet.
Magnaye said the firm allocated some P80 million for the renovation of the hotel's infrastructure. The area where the structure is standing used to be an old and deserted building with a total area of 3,726 square meters.
"I'm thankful to the developer for introducing that hotel to C.M. Recto," Magnaye said.
He said the opening of new establishments as well as commercial spaces in the whole stretch of the street will support new developments in the area.
Davao Rogienald Corporation's first phase is the Mainstreet Claveria, commercial building housing a total of 40 units. This will be opened in the last quarter of the year.
The Brooklyn and Walters Hotel, on the other hand, will be erected behind the commercial building.
The hotel is three-storey building with a total of 50 rooms. Construction of the hotel will start early next year.
Davao Rogienald Corporation allocated some P120 million for the construction of both projects.
