Plastic recycling firm makes park benches-A A +A

A DAVAO City-based recycling company that has been manufacturing school chairs made of recycled plastic waste now has new designs including park benches and pavement tiles.
Envirotech Waste Recycling Inc. started off with recycling the garbage of local government units outside Davao City and coming up with durable school chairs just a little over six months ago.
Winchester Lemen, president and CEO, told Sun.Star Davao that that school chairs are so popular they are now shipping out to Quezon City.
With such success, they tried other designs and thus came up with the park benches and pavement tiles.
Envirotech has been collecting plastic waste from landfills since 2010 as its contribution to reduce the amount of waste being dumped in landfills.
It’s now collecting from Isulan in Sultan Kudarat, Koronadal in South Cotabato, Balut in Sarangani, the cities of Tagum and Panabo, Kapalong and Sto. Tomas in Davao del Norte, Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur, and Calinan in Davao City.
The plastics here are recycled into school chairs which Envirotech sells to the LGUs at a reasonable price and guaranteed durability.
As a result, the LGUs are able to save in their waste collection expenses and get durable school chairs as well.
Having established such market, it went on to introduce the use of recycled plastic pavement tiles, which can be used for landscaping, capped with the park benches that are just as durable as the school chairs to encourage LGUs to maximize the recycling of their plastic wastes.
