Games and Gadgets Fair underway at Abreeza Mall

THE six-day Games and Gadgets Fair opened Sunday at the Abreeza Mall with around 200 computer enthusiasts from all-over Davao City participating.
The fair, which will end Friday, is giving highlight to the city's enthusiasts of the latest gadgets and most popular computer games to date.
Lester Lawrence Avila, an organizer from E-Aquared Events, said the holding of the event was pushed through by Davao-based DCwired.net, the biggest group of personal computer (PC) enthusiasts in the country with around 100 active members.
Avila said DCwired.net has several line-up activities along with the fair. These include Rig Show, exhibit, Local Area Network (LAN) party, console gaming, and costume play (Cosplay).
He said Rig Show is a showcase of 30 high-end computers that are equipped with cutting-edge technology of hardware, while LAN Party allows participants to play internet games on Call of Duty 4, Team Fortress, Starcraft 2, Grid, and Couterstrike.
There are 14 participants in the six-day exhibit of laptops, mobile phones, software, accessories, collectors' item of different animes, according to Avila.
He said Console Gaming is a competition for online gamers wherein they will be battling out for NBA 2K12, and Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom.
The Cosplay will also culminate the Games and Gadgets Fair on August 31, according to Avila.
"We will award the best cosplayer and the cutest cosplyer for kids," Avila said.
DCwired.net also has members in General Santos City, Cebu City and Metro Manila, with the biggest number of members coming from Davao City.
