THE Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines Inc. (Rebap) will hold its 34th National Convention and Election of Officers from November 22 to 24 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao.
Rebap national president Margaret D. Gaw, speaking in Wednesday's Club 888 Forum at the Marco Polo Hotel, said around 500 guests and members are expected to attend the three-day assembly.
Evelyn A. Espardinez, Rebap vice president for international affairs, said they have invited Vice President Jejomar Binay as the guest of honor.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and City Planning and Development Office (DCPO) officer-in-charge Roberto P. Alabado III have also been invited to the affair, said Espardinez.
She said Binay will give an update on the state of real estate brokers in the country today and discuss about global standard in consonant with this year's theme "Pioneering on Global Standard."
Emily Q. Duterte, the group's past national president who also appeared in the regular forum with Gaw and Espardinez, said real estate brokers today have been professionalized as they now get their license from the Professional Regulation Commission.
Gaw said Rebap has around 1,500 members who belong to 28 chapters nationwide, all licensed real estate brokers and accredited salespersons.
In a statement, the group said that in support of the Real Estate Service Act or R.A. 9646 authored by Rep. Rodolfo Valenciia, Rebap aims to continue to expand by establishing more chapters in key areas of the country's 16 regions. (CRAM)
