A FIVE-DAY Cooperative Trade Fair and Exhibit was opened on Monday wherein 24 exhibitors have set up booths until Friday at the City Council, an official said.
City Cooperative Development Office (CCDO) chief Engineer Jaime Adalin said this is an annual holding of trade fair and exhibit for the cooperatives in Davao City in celebration of the Cooperative Month in October.
The main objective of the event is to increase the number of members of the participating cooperatives through promoting their services.
"The CCDO spearheads activities for the promotion of the cooperatives," Adalin said.
In fact, a Coop Forum was held on Tuesday to about 150 participants, representing different cooperatives in the city.
Discussions, he said, were mostly about the credit surety fund and livelihood assistance program. In the forum, Adalin added they encouraged the participants to come up with community development fund, set aside for the community development projects.
Adalin, however, said they are not setting target revenues to generate at the end of this year's trade fair and exhibit as this will depend on the number of clients these cooperatives can get from the entire duration of the event. (ALC)
