Krispy Kreme execs confident of Davao market

KRISPY Kreme is bringing its quality doughnut and coffee products to Davao City when it opens two stores in the metropolis this Saturday.
"We are excited that we are finally here. It's exciting that we are in Mindanao," Krispy Kreme chairman Jim Fuentebella said during the media launch Thursday where Davao journalists were given a sneak preview of their store at the Abreeza Mall.
Krispy Kreme, the world-famous doughnut and coffee brand, is also opening a store at the Annex of SM City Davao this Saturday, October 20.
A third store will be opened at the SM Lanang Premier next month as the company embarks on am aggressive expansion plan in Mindanao.
For the three Davao stores, Krispy Kreme invested around P30 million.
Funtebella said they are very confident of the Davao market and that the people will embrace their product just like in Manila and Cebu.
"We are thinking that the growth here is sustainable," he said.
Fuentebella also announced that Krispy Kreme recently won seven international awards and assured the people of Davao to deliver the same quality product that the company is known for.
"We will bring the same quality that won us those awards," said Fuentebella, who was accompanied by the rest of the Krispy Kreme board of directors in Davao for the launch.
Also arriving for the company's launch and store opening is Krispy Kreme managing director Carolyn Salud.
Krispy Kreme has 36 stores in the Philippine since opening its doors in the country six years ago. Last year, the firm opened three stores in Cebu.
After Davao, the firm plans to open to other cities in Mindanao depending on the demand for the product.
