LAUNDRYWORLD, a fully-owned subsidiary of AYP Holdings, is set to open a branch at SM Lanang Premier next month, a top executive said Tuesday.
AYP Holdings president Albert Pingoy, in an interview, told reporters they embarked on another branch to meet the demands of the growing market in Davao City in terms of laundry services.
He said the SM Lanang outlet measures about 26.63 square meters.
Laundryworld is the biggest industrial laundry shop in Mindanao, servicing almost 20 hotels in the city.
Some of these major hotels, he added, are Marco Polo Hotel Davao, Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao, and Royal Mandaya.
Among the boutique hotels they are servicing also include Homecrest, Ecoland Suites, and Microtel Inn & Suites Davao.
He said around P1.5 million was being invested for their second branch in the city. This includes the acquisition of five new machines that can cater around 300 to 500 kilos of clothes a day.
He also boasted that they are gearing up for more modernized services they can give to Dabawawenyos. In fact, the firm just acquired brand new machines that cost about $30,000 from China to back their daily operations at the main branch, located on Palma Gil Street, Barrio Obrero, Davao City.
"We want a cost-efficient, effective, and modernized service," he said, adding that more than 50 percent of the machines in place are brand new.
Laundryworld is also present in Koronadal City, Tagum City, General Santos City, and Tacurong.
The firm is also eyeing Cagayan de Oro City, Panabo City, Tagum City, and Polomolok in South Cotabato as viable areas for expansion.
"In Davao City, however, we can still sink in another five branches," he said.
Even with this, the number of its market will not reach maturity, considering the growing demands of the accommodation establishments in the city.
Sharon Cabrera, operations in-charge of Laundryworld, said they are open for franchise to any interested investors.
The firm offers franchise at P250,000, which includes five-year contract, site approval, training for franchisee and sales staff, procurement program, operations assistance, and operations manual, and research and development.
