ICT capability showcased in Musikahan

IN A bid to harness Tagum City's Information Communication and Technology (ICT) capability, especially among the youths, the City Government has integrated an ICT event during the staging of 11th Musikahan sa Tagum slated on the third week of February.
Alma Uy, chair of Tagum City Tourism Council, told reporters in a recent press conference at the Abreeza Mall that aside from enhancing and showcasing the innate musical talents of the Tagumenyos, the music festival is also an event where other talents and capabilities are given equal importance.
The Musikahan @ ICT is one of the components of festival that aim to showcase the capabilities and talents of students enrolled in IT schools in the city.
The event will be composed of series of seminars on various topics about ICT, conferences, exhibition, and competition.
"The event (Musikahan @ ICT) provides a platform for the IT Learning Institutions in asserting the vital and irreversible role of Information Technology in the sustainable growth of the City of Tagum, which is considered as one of the most viable and highly competitive urban center in the country," Uy said.
For the competition aspect of the event, there are five competitions prepared by the organizers including Quiz, Web Development, Digital Graphics Competition, Facebook link and Facebook Jurors Choice, and Sync IT (a singing competition).
All of the competitions, expect for the Facebook links and jurors choice awards, are region-wide.
For the Quiz Bee, the champion will get a P6,000 cash prize; P3,000 grand prize for web development; P3,000 cash for graphics design champion; P5,000 for Facebook likes; and P10,000 cash for Sync IT champion.
The week-long event is slated on February 19-24 and will be held in various venues around the city .JOP
