10 foreign speakers to grace Micecon 2013

AT LEAST 10 foreign resource speakers have confirmed their attendance to the 3rd Philippine Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, Exhibitions/Events Conference (Micecon) set for the first time in Davao City on March 6 to 9.

The Micecon 2013 will open its doors also for the first time to foreign delegates across the world.

The four-day event, which is expected to gather at least 500 delegates, will be held at the SMX Convention Center at the SM Lanang Premier.

Based on the official website of Micecon, 10 foreign speakers and one Filipino will tackle various issues, from the potential of the travel sector to tips, tricks and techniques for an extraordinary event experience.

The following are the confirmed speakers and the topics they will be presenting:

Professor Ian Yeoman, associate professor of School of Management, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand -- Imagining the Future of Travel;

Martin Winter, chair of International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Asia Pacific Chapter -- The Future of Meetings in Asia Pacific;

Tony Steve, president of The Australian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE) -- Keeping Associations Healthy, Wealthy and Wise;

Ray Shaw, managing director, MCI Australia -- "Content is King!" and "M.I.C.E Technovations: Tomorrow's Hottest Technologies Today;

Jerg Dietzel, chief executive officer, Brand Consultants Pte Ltd., Singapore -- Rise of Asian Brands and Nation Branding;

Ma. Teresa D. Villanueva, chair and chief executive officer, Publicis Manila Inc. -- Brand Strategy on a Tight Budget;

Maureen O'Crowley, vice president, Seoul Tourism Organization, South Korea -- The Tourism and Business Value of Meetings;

Gary Grimmer, chief executive officer, GainingEdge, Australia -- Let's Kill Murphy! Bullet-proofing Meetings from Disasters and Other Event Terrorists;

Andrew Chan, founder and chief executive officer, ACI HR Solutions, Singapore -- The War for Talent-The Secret to Attracting, Motivating and Retaining the Best;

Don Allison, master storyteller of the Mark of a Leader, Canada -- The Mark of a Leader;

Cheryl Ceccheto, Founder and president, Sequoia Productions, USA -- Tips, Tricks and Techniques for an Extraordinary Event Experience.
