INTERNATIONAL apparel brand G-Star Raw, which originated in Amsterdam, has been making a name among Davao City's fashion market.
In terms of sales for G-Star label, Bauhaus, a multi-brand store at the second level of Abreeza Mall in Davao City, where G-Star has been made available, is consistently on top among the four Bauhaus stores nationwide.
"It's really surprising. G-Star immediately has a following in Davao City," Riki Conwi, area sales supervisor for Bauhaus/G-Star, said on Wednesday, adding their Davao store is selling more G-Star merchandise compared to their stores at Shangrila Plaza in Mandaluyong City, Trinoma Mall in Quezon City and Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa.
G-Star has its flagship store at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
Conwi was in the city to promote the latest G-Star latest collections now available at Bauhaus-Abreeza.
He said G-Star, whose prices ranged from P9,000 to P11,000 for denims and P3,000 to P8,000 for tees and polos, is the newest brand inside Bauhaus as the label was just made available in the Davao market in November, last year.
"In just a few months, G-Star has become one of the top-selling brands inside Bauhaus," Conwi said.
Other prominent brands available at Bauhaus are street-style staples such as Tough and Salad, progressive labels such as 80/20 and Superdry, denim crafters like Cheap Monday.
"The market acceptability of G-Star in Davao is very high and this only shows that Dabawenyos really have the buying power," Conwi said.
He said the market segment for G-Star is basically the young professionals because of the brand's design that is straightforward and characterized by its rough, cutting-edge, and unorthodox approach to tailoring.
"The label (G-Star) aims to produce denim styles that will transcend time. At the same time, the designs marry a sense of refinement with futuristic elements for a far-reaching and experimental vibe. The brand is all about standing out, breaking the molds of average standards, and ensuring the mark of authenticity -- qualities that attract denim lovers with a taste for grandiose and out-of-this-world elements," Clarissa Reyes, brand manager, said in a press statement.
She said that in line with expanding the availability of the brand, style savants in Davao can now have unadulterated access to one of the best-fitting denims in fashion history.
"Now, there is no longer the need to go the extra mile just to get a hold to one's own G-Star merchandise," she said.
Fashion citizens of Davao can find G-Star Raw jackets, tees, and footwear that will up the ante of their fashion statements at Bauhaus-Abreeza.
G-Star is exclusively distributed in the Philippines by Primer Group of Companies, which is engaged in the distribution of the world's top consumer brands in outdoorm, travel, footwear, fashion, wellness and urban lifestyle.
