CARLSON Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world's largest and most dynamic hotel groups, announced the grand opening of Park Inn by Radisson Davao.

The hotel is the first "next generation" mid-scale Park Inn by Radisson brand to be established in Asia Pacific, bearing the hallmarks dedicated to savvy business and leisure travelers seeking an outstanding hotel experience.

"The opening of Park Inn by Radisson Davao marks a new era for the Park Inn by Radisson brand in Asia Pacific. At this first next generation of Park Inn, guests can expect to experience the friendliness and vibrancy of the Park Inn by Radisson brand," said Simon C. Barlow, president for Asia Pacific of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

He said the hotel is focused on delivering the modern essentials of a great hotel experience that will resonate well with international and domestic travelers.

"We are pleased to be partnering with SM Group again, in establishing this brand in the Philippines and we are confident that Park Inn by Radisson Davao will set a new hospitality benchmark in the growing mid-scale segment in the Philippines. As part of the Carlson Rezidor global hotel network, the hotel will benefit from the patronage of 10 million Global Club Carlson members. In addition, we believe the hotel and the brand will appear strongly to the Philippines' burgeoning domestic market of 35 million travelers seeking affordable accommodation, that is fresh and uncomplicated," Barlow said in yesterday's press conference.

"Park Inn by Radisson Davao is a welcome addition to our existing hotel portfolio that includes the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay, the Pico Sands Hotel in Batangas and the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City," said Elizabeth Sy, president of SM Hotel and Conventions Corp.

"Our plan for the near future includes the construction of Park Inn by Radisson hotels in Clark, Pampanga, SM North Edsa Complex in Quezon City, Bacolod City and Iloilo City. We are happy to partner once more with the renowned Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to operate these hotels. Carlson Rezidor already manages our Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu which, in only its third year of operation, was rated by Trip Advisor as the top hotel in Cebu and the fourth best in the country for 2012. We have no doubt that Carlson Rezidor will run the Park Inn by Radisson Davao just as well," she said.

Park Inn by Radisson Davao is a 204-room new build hotel that enjoys a prime location, next to SMX Convention Centre and SM Lanang Premier Mall.

The hotel is just 15 minutes from Davao international airport and the city center, and a short drive from major tourist attractions, beaches and museums. Through its signature Adding Colors to Life service concept, Park Inn by Radisson Davao delivers a great night's sleep in a clean, personalized environment and guests can expect vibrant decor, complimentary in-room high speed Internet.

As part of the launch of Park Inn by Radisson Davao, celebrity presenter Georgina Wilson will provide endorsement for the hotel, participating in its marketing and promotional activities in the Philippines.
