ORGANIZERS’ new initiatives will be introduced in this year's staging of Philconstruct Mindanao that is set on September 5 to 7 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, said Engr. Ramon Allado, event chair, during the event launch and press conference at Villa Margarita Hotel on Thursday.
He said they have decided that the event will be held every September, from June, which tends to be a period of transition for public offices and also a busy period in the business sector.
They will also be having a series of technical seminars dubbed as Technoforum Mindanao, which will be one of the main highlights of the convention.
"Technoforum is part of our thrust for capacity building," said Bong Cristobal, Technoforum Mindanao 2013 chair, in a statement. The series focus will range from training of authorized managing officers and liaison officers to safety practitioner courses.
More than 1,000 products and technology will be displayed by more than 100 top companies in the construction industry. The stakeholders in Mindanao will no longer need to go to Cebu or Manila to make themselves aware of the new technologies and products.
"These companies will be coming here because of the boom of the construction industry in Mindanao," said Allado.
Allado said the most important thing about the event is that more than 90 percent of those who will be coming will be making purchasing decisions.
"Our visitors, even though they might not have the numbers, they will have the potential for sales," said Allado.
Also dubbed as the 4th Mindanao International Construction Equipment, Building Materials, Interior & Exterior Products Exhibition and Technology Forum will comprise of suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and providers of top brands in the construction industry.
It is co-organized by the Philconstruct Events, Exhibitions, & Conferences Corp., together with the Philippine Constructors Association and the Davao Constructors Association Center Inc.
