Children's Hour in Davao launch reset-A A +A
Wednesday, September 18, 2013
THE re-launch of the Children's Hour Philippines Inc. Davao, earlier set on Saturday, was reset to a still undetermined date citing security concerns on the heels of twin bomb explosions in two cinemas on Monday night.
"With the recent incidents that happened at SM City Davao and Gaisanao Mall of Davao, we have been advised to defer our re-launching to assure the safety of our donors and our guests," Children's Hour Davao steering committee chair Erlinda B. Basa said during the Club 888 Forum at the Marco Polo Davao Hotel Wednesday.
Basa said that the decision was made during their security meeting with the Abreeza Mall management.
"We are still talking whether to have it postponed sometime in October of November instead," said Llewelyn Muriel A. del Rosario, Children's Hour vice-chair and president of the Ayala Business Club.
Children's Hour was supposed to have its re-launch through their "Cocktails for a Cause," a fund raising event featuring a musical comedy show with Mitch Valdes on Saturday at the Activity Centre of Abreeza Mall.
Two improvised bombs exploded 22 minutes apart Monday night inside Cinema 1 of SM City Davao in Ecoland at around 9:03 p.m., and Cinema 5 of Gaisano Mall of Davao in J.P. Laurel Ave., Bajada at around 9:25 p.m. (Sun.Star Davao)
