Civil engineers to meet in Davao City for nat’l gab-A A +A

FOR the first time, Davao City will host the 39th Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Inc. (Pice) National Convention SET on November 7 to 9 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.
Pice national 1st vice president and convention chair Erdsan Rene S. Sueto said in Monday's edition of Kapehan sa Dabaw at the SM City Davao Annex that they are expecting some 4,000 delegates to join the convention.
"This part of our recommitment to the Filipinos in upgrading the knowledge of our local civil engineers with the latest trends and innovations in the field," he said.
The convention will delve on topics, such as Project Management and Construction Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Engineering and Environmental and Energy Engineering.
Pice Construction Technologies, Services and Building Materials Exhibit, Best Celebrated Civil Engineering Month Competition, National Chapter Awards, Sports Tournaments, Special Lectures, Technical Tracks, Election of the 2014 National Directorate and Fellowship will also be conducted during the convention.
The event will also host the 16th National Civil Engineering Student Conference that will feature activities like technical sessions, the 18th Bridge Building Competition, Grand Finals of the 32nd National Civil Engineering Student Quiz, and the Search and Awarding of the 2013 Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Students (Moces).
Pice is composed of around 73,000 registered civil engineer members from 97 local and eight international chapters. The organization also have some 25,390 civil engineering student members from 180 college and university chapters.
