CENTER for Agriculture and Rural Development-Mutually Reinforcing Institution (Card-MRI)'s pharmaceutical facility, the BotiCard, plans to put up its first branch in Mindanao in Davao City next year.
"We are currently scouting for location in the city but we are eyeing an area on Magallanes st.," Boticard president Rosenda P. Aquino said during the Card media briefing at Paterno's Fastfood and Catering Services on Friday.
They are also looking for Davao-based pharmacists to run the branch they are planning to establish.
One of the stand-out features of their pharmacy is they have a clinic inside wherein customers can have free consultation and check-ups.
Boticard was established in May 2011 as an offshoot from Card-MRI's Microfinance and Health Protection program. It has eight pharmacies and one head office nationwide.
As of December 2012, they reported P21.5 million in assets and P28.5 million in revenue with a gross profit of P16.1 million.
Aside from the pharmacy, Card-MRI's microfinance-oriented rural bank Card Bank Inc. is eyeing expansion in Davao Region in the next five years with the planned establishment of 25 branches.
Next year they will be opening five branches in the region. Currently they have three branches in the region in Davao City at Magallanes (2007), Buhangin (2013), and Matina which opened on Friday last week.
