Davao City Chamber elects new trustees-A A +A

THE Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. elected five members of the business group's board of trustees on Saturday at the Marco Polo Hotel Davao.
Serving a three-year term are Arch. Daniel T. Lim, John Y. Gaisano Jr., Bonifacio T. Tan, Annie E. Veloso, and Arturo M. Milan. They were chosen from among the 13 nominees during DCCCII's General Membership Meeting and 46th Annual Election of Board of Trustees.
"I am really privileged and honored to serve as member of the board. We will do our best on how we can improve and promote environment that is conducive to investment and business expansion in our city," Milan said in an interview with Sun.Star Davao, adding they aim to be an active advocate of many social concerns particularly on corruption, poverty reduction, and environmental protection.
For his part, Lim said it is a very humbling experience to be re-elected again to the board. He is positive and confident that the ones elected to the board will work hard for the betterment of the chamber and the city.
"The direction of the chamber will be the same, as the business scene continues to change, we will also continue to adapt. We are looking forward for another great year next year, it is hard to beat the successes we have this year," Gaisano said.
Lim said the there will also be an election of officers on December 11 at the DCCCII headquarters.
"Whoever will be elected officers for next year, we believe the best will be elected and we look forward for another good run next year," he said.
DCCCII's Commission of Elections (Comelec) is led by past president Joe Custodio, past president and trustee Boyet Quinto, and chair of the board and honorary life chair Anggie Angliongto.
Their Accreditation committee was led by past president Sofronio M. Jucutan, supported by corporate secretary Atty. Enrique M. Diola and corporate treasurer Yvonne Cabada while the Nomination committee was led by Quinto, supported by Atty. Susan Cariaga and Tony Ajero.
