STUDFENTS around the Philippines can quickly hit the ground running for this semester as wireless leader Smart Communications Inc. (Smart), through its subsidiary Smart Broadband, Inc. (Smart Bro), helps them take on their school requirements with the help of premium gadget and Internet bundles that are easy on the pocket.

For just P1,299 a month, students can already accomplish research papers or browse the Internet for their homework on a laptop bundled with high-speed Internet provided by Smart Bro’s Pocket WiFi device that delivers speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps.

With Smart Bro's Gadget Plus Plan 1299, they can choose from either the Samsung ATIV Book 2 laptop bundle which comes with a WiFi printer and a Pocket WiFi device; or the Acer Aspire V5 122P Touch notebook bundle that comes with the 7-inch Acer Iconia B1 tablet and a Pocket WiFi device.

"Students nowadays have technology at their disposal, and with the help of laptops, tablets and high-speed mobile Internet, they can be confident of acing that exam or getting a high grade for their research papers this coming semester," said Michele Curran, Data and International Services Marketing head at Smart.

The Samsung ATIV Book 2 is a highly capable laptop that features a 14-inch display, 500GB of hard disk drive space, and the latest Windows 8 operating system. The Samsung wireless printer that comes with it enables printing of school papers or Internet research without the hassles of wires and other connectivity issues.

The Acer Aspire V5 122P notebook, on the other hand, features an 11-inch touchscreen and a 500GB hard drive, also powered by Windows 8. The accompanying Acer Iconia B1 tablet, with its compact 7-inch screen and Android Jelly Bean operating system, makes school work not only convenient but also fun for students.

These bundles come with 50 hours of Internet surfing every month and are protected by an Anti-Bill Shock guarantee, which means students or their parents would only have to pay a maximum of P1,899 every month for excess Internet usage.

But for students who are on a prepaid Smart Bro subscription and would want to take control of their Internet time more effectively, Smart Bro has introduced its new Flexitime packages which give them the convenience of budgeting their data consumption only when they need it the most.

Smart Bro’s new Flexitime packages include Flexitime 50, which gives users 5 hours of broadband usage that can be consumed over three days; and Flexitime 100, which gives them 12 hours of Internet access that can be used for a period of seven days.

Smart Bro's Flexitime packages offer the convenience of turning their broadband connection on and off whenever necessary—such as during school lunch breaks or when they are already on their way home after classes.

Other Flexitime packages include Flexitime 20 with 2 hours of Internet surfing, and Flexitime 30 with 3 hours of Internet surfing, both valid for one day. Users would only have to text the corresponding Flexitime package to 2200 to avail of the service.
