Wednesday, December 11, 2013
THE Business Bureau announced on Tuesday that renewal of business permits is set on January 2 to 20, 2014.
Business Bureau officer-in-charge Lawrence D. Bantiding told reporters that business establishments can process the renewal of their permits at NCCC Mall in Ma-a and at the City Hall of Davao.
Businesses can have their permits renewed in both venues on January 2 to 3 from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and from January 6 to 10 and 13 to 17 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
On Saturdays and Sundays (Jan. 4 to 5, 11 to 12, and 18 to 19), businesses can have their renewals from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On January 20, businesses can process their renewals from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at NCCC Mall and from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight.
The requirements for permit renewal are: (a) original 2013 business permit, (b) original 2013 computerized official receipts and if it is manual, secure certificate of tax payment from City Treasurer Office, (c) original barangay clearance, (d) certified list of employees and their corresponding positions, (e) secure market clearance or certificate for public market from CTO and City Administrator and DCOTT stall holders, (f) if the taxpayer is represented; special power attorney for individual secretary certificate for corporation to transact with the bureau together with the valid I.D's of all signatories, (g) community tax certificate, (h) gross sales certification form from CTO, and (i) fire safety inspection certificate 2013.
"For those who will miss the renewal dates, we will impose surcharges based on the City Tax Ordinance," Bantiding said.
He said they are expecting some 35,000 establishments who will be renewing permits for 2014. Some of the establishments that will be renewing their permits are internet cafes, restaurants, and small-medium enterprises.
For this year, as of November, he said they have registered some 5,000 new businesses in the city while some 2000 businesses have already retired.
"I urge the businesses to renew their business permits early so that there will be no large influx of those applying for renewal during the last days of renewal," Bantiding said, adding the last minute attitude of applicants may cause long minutes in the processing of permits.
