THE LTS Supermarket Inc., which operates NCCC supermakets, signed a 10-year contract lease under the Northbank Holdings Corp. for the establishment of NCCC's Choice Mart at Commercio Marquella's Centro Marcadia in Tigatto-Mandug area.

At the signing, LTS Supermarket was represented by its president Javelin A. Lim and NCCC group of companies marketing director Tjader P. Regis while Northbank was represented by the chair of the board Jose Ma. P. Marfori and president and chief-operating-executive Simeon P. Marfori II.

In a briefer, Choice Mart will occupy 1,000 sq.m. of Centro Marcadia's 3,000 sq. m. land area at the master-planned Ciudades community.

"We are proud to be partners with the NCCC group. And with the new partnership, we hope to help grow in a community that just opened," Jose Ma. P. Marfori said.

Lim, for his part, said they will first start with the supermarket and as they progress, residents in the area can also expect the other NCCC brands like H1B1.

"The supermarket is expected to employ some 200 people which includes merchandisers and promo-dicers," he said.

Simeon P. Marfori II said the Centro Marcadia will cater to some 8,000 households in the vicinity. He said the building will have a total area of 3,000 sq.m. with a foot print area of 1,500 sq. m. It will have a public market and a transport terminal in the area.

"The building will also feature paving blocks for increase water absorption, natural ventilation and lighting for reduced carbon footprint, and multipurpose and pedestrian areas," Marfori said.

The Centro Marcadia is part of Commercio Marquella, a six hectare master planned development that will include green open-spaces, parking areas, access roads, tianggehan areas, mini-stalls, and picnic-playground area to name a few.

The project is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2014.
