THE regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Davao is set to complete nine major road projects before January ends.
Based on the data obtained by Sun.Star Davao from the bulletin board of the regional office, three will be completed in Davao del Sur and two each in Davao del Norte, Davao City, and Compostella Valley.
The three projects that will be set for completion in Davao del Sur are the P61.94-million road upgrading of Bansalan-Mt. Apo National Park Road (87.94 percent complete); P66.91 million rehabilitation, reconstruction, and upgrading of damaged paved roads along Davao-Cotabato road (Davao City to junction Digos, Davao del Sur section) (85.51 percent) and; P100-million improvement and concreting of highway junction in Barangay San Agustin, Sta. Maria (81.54 percent).
The P139.69-million road upgrading of the Kapalong-Talaingod-Valencia-Bukidnon road and the P100-million rehabilitation and upgrading of the Panabo City Coastal road and the construction of a seawall along the coastal road are the projects to be completed in Davao del Norte. They are 93.24 percent and 95.64 percent complete, respectively.
For Davao City, the projects that will be completed are the P82-million road upgrading of Mintal-Bago Oshiro-Bago Gallera roads (85.77 percent) and the P55.79-million widening and reconstruction of the Davao-Cotabato road (Davao City to Digos Junction) (87 percent).
Projects to be completed in Compostella Valley are the P59.50-million road upgrading of the Montevista-Compostella-Mati boundary road (95.21 percent) and the P144.29-million road upgrading of its intermittent section.
According to the data gathered from the regional office, there are still 24 major road projects in the pipeline of DPWH-Davao’s 2013 infrastructure projects that are still onongoing. Four projects will be completed on February, five on March, and three each for April and May.
