REAL estate firm Sta. Lucia Land Inc. (SLLI) will soon develop its first condotel unit in Davao City next year to support the emerging tourism industry.

Liezel Tuason-Magpoc, chief executive officer and executive vice president, said their latest project, SotoGrande Hotel Suites, will be a 15-storey building with a total of 260 rooms.

The condotel will rise within the Davao Riverfront Corporate City Complex, a master-planned community by SLLI in Ma-a.

The building will have two types of rooms: studio and one bedroom unit.

For the studio type, future occupants may choose from a Studio A (37.45 square meters (sqms.)), A-1 (28.7 sqms.), A-2 (24.50 sqms.), B (42.8 sqms.), and B-1 (35.5 sqms.).

The one bedroom unit, meanwhile, will have three variants such as 1 Bedroom A (57.4 sqms.), A-1 (48.65 sqms.), and A-2 (40.25 sqms.).

Each floor will have 20 units wherein 18 will be studio units while two will be the one-bedroom units.

Amenities of the hotel include: lap pool, kiddie pool, jacuzzi, poolside bar, spa, veranda and viewing deck. Guests will also have access to the Rancho Palos Verdes Sports and Country Club.

"We are bringing this development in Davao City because of its strong tourism industry and its push in becoming one of the top destinations for meetings, investments, conventions, and events (Mice)," Magpoc said.

She said the target construction date will begin in January 2015 and will be completed sometime in 2017.

Once completed, the condotel will be managed by Sta. Lucia's Hotel and Management Group, a subsidiary of SLLI. The group is currently managing La Breza in Quezon City, East Bel-air Residences in Cainta, and SotoGrande and La Mirada in Cebu City.

Soon to rise are Splendido Tower 2 in Tagaytay City, Stradella at East Bel-air in Cainta, Arterra Residences at Discovery Bay in Cebu City, and SotoGrande Hotel at Neopolitan in Quezon City.

SLLI is one of the leading companies in property development. It has over 10,000 hectares of properties ranging from residential estate projects, country clubs, and grand malls all throughout the Philippines.
