19,000 jobs available at Labor Day job fair

CLOSE to 19,000 jobs will be made available in the upcoming Labor Day Job Fair sponsored by the regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole-Davao Region).

Dole 11 regional director lawyer Joffrey Suyao, who was a guest in Monday's edition of Davao Press Club's Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao Annex, said 3,151 vacancies are coming from the 99 local companies who will be participating in the event on May 1, 2014 while 15,532 will be coming from 31 overseas agencies.

"This will be in line with our celebration for the 112th Labor Day," he said.

Suyao said the most of the vacancies are call center agents, customer service assistants, service crews, administrative clerk, office cashier, kitchen crew, warehouse helper, non-formal education teacher, carpenters, insurance salesment, market salespersons, and accountung assistants.

The venues for the job fair will be in Gaisano Mall of Davao, SM City Davao, and Gaisano Tagum. The job fair in Gaisano Mall of Davao will run until May 2.

Suyao said the job fair will begin at 10 a.m. while the registration will begin at 7:30 am outside the venues.

"We urge our fresh graduates to take advantage of this major job fair," Suyao said.

Other activities will include a one-stop shop for job requirements like Philhealth and Pag-ibig; a mini job fair and Phil-Jobnet online registration in Gaisano Mall of Davao and SM City Davao on April 26 to 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and a pre-employment seminar at Peso Davao City every Wednesdays and Fridays.
