DCWD evaluates Manila-based bidders for ground water study-A A +A
Friday, April 25, 2014
THE Davao City Water District (DCWD) is presently conducting a post-evaluation on three Manila-based bidders that have been shortlisted to conduct the utility's Ground Water Model Study this year.
"We have already began the post evaluation of Cest Inc., Woodfields Consultants Inc., and Geosphere Technologies Inc., after we shortlisted them last week," DCWD spokesperson Imelda Magsuci told reporters at the sidelines of the DCWD Forum on Rainwater Harvesting in Davao City at Lispher Inn in Thursday.
Magsuci said the awarding will come anytime soon. She said the study is expected to begin this year once they have awarded the project to the chosen bidder then they will discuss the terms of reference.
She announced the plan of DCWD last year when she graced the Davao Press Club's Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Dabaw.
Magsuci said the study will have a project cost of P19 million and will run for around 18 months.
Magsuci said the study will help determine the ground water balance, know how much the current ground water can still supply, how they can conserve the ground water supply, and simulate a chemical contamination, like know when the contamination will reach the source and how it can be prevented before or when contamination happens.
"If this study is completed, Davao City will probably be the first in the Philippines to have this type of data," she said.
