THE Davao City Investment Promotions Center (DCIPC) said Singaporean and other foreign businessmen are looking at Davao City based companies for fresh fruit supply.

DCIPC officer-in-charge Ivan C. Cortez, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao on Friday, said they have been receiving inquiries from foreign buyers and sellers who are looking for fresh fruits suppliers during the Hotel Asia 2014 held during the Singapore Expo last April 8 to 11, 2014.

The event was a major annual exhibition of hotel, restaurant and food service equipment, supplies, and services in Asia.

He said businessmen visiting the Philippine pavilion were constantly inquiring about fresh fruit suppliers. He also said that they are also looking for other products like seafood and semi-processed fruits.

"We are announcing to the businessmen in Davao City that if they are interested to supply fresh fruits or other products, they may come to our office at Magsaysay Park to get their copy of the contact details of Singaporean and foreign buyers, sellers, and traders," he said.

Cortez also said they held business-to-business meetings last April 10 between heads of the local business chambers in Davao and business leaders from the Singapore Business Federation through the assistance of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore.

The event attracted around 64,000 businessmen from 95 nations. There were also around 2,800 exhibitors from 70 countries.

Davao City is the only local government unit in the country who exhibited in the Philippine pavilion.
