MANILA-BASED firm Cest Inc. is up for recommendation to the board of the Davao City Water District (DCWD) to conduct the utility's Ground Water Model Study this year.
In a phone interview on Friday, DCWD spokesperson Imelda Magsuci said Cest Inc. came out as the top bidder in their evaluation over Woodfields Consultants Inc., and Geosphere Technologies Inc.
"The project has yet to be awarded to them since they still have to be recommended to the board for the awarding," she said.
Magsuci said the awarding might be conducted this month once the board gives their decision.
"Once the board approves and awards it to them, they will be issued a notice to proceed," she said.
DCWD shortlisted three Manila-based companies last April to conduct the study.
Earlier, Magsuci said the study will have a project cost of around P19 million and will run for 18 months.
She said the study will help determine the ground water balance, know how much the current ground water can still supply, how they can conserve the ground water supply, and simulate a chemical contamination, like know when the contamination will reach the source and how it can be prevented before or when contamination happens.
