Earlier, Vargas said the first phase of construction will include the construction of the building for the Japanese retirees and another building for retirees of other nationalities and local retirees. Each building will have 36 units.

The retirement facility will also have green features like being powered through solar energy, water sewerage and treatment system, and rain water catchment system. It will also feature fiber optic cables for its state-of-the-art communication system.

Japanese-speaking staff will also man the center that is expected to be completed in five years. It will have 500 individual units.

On top of that, they are also eyeing to acquire a 100 hectare land somewhere in Davao City to be utilized as a farm wherein retirees can plan cash crops.
