Price of garlic remains high

THE retail price of garlic remains high based on the price monitoring conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority-Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (PSA-BAS) 11 last week.

Based on the data furnished Sun.Star Davao, the price of imported garlic is at P300 to P320 with a prevailing price of P300, native garlic ranged from P260 to P300 with a prevailing price of P300, and Hawaiian garlic ranged from P160 to P180 with a prevailing price of P170.

The prices of other selected basic commodities, on the other hand, have remained stable as of last week.

Well milled rice is from P43 to P48, regular milled rice is from P37 to P42, and NFA rice is from P27 to P32.

Price of meat, poultry, and seafood products are: pork liempo P175 to P185, pork lean meat P170 to P180, beem lean meat P220, beef with bones bones P175 to P180, dressed chicken P112 to P115, chicken egg P4.5 to P5, bangus P110 to P120, and tilapia P90 to P100.

The price of vegetable products are: ampalaya P50 to P60, sitao P25 to P30, cabbage P40 to P50, carrots P70 to P80, habitchuelas P30 to P40, tomatoP30 to P35, red onion P60 to P70, white potato P70 to P80, eggplant P20 to P25, and native pechay P60 to P70.

The price of selected fruit prooduts: lakatan P36 to P38, latundan P25 to P28, calamansi P25 to P30, papaya P18 to P20, and carabao mango P40 to P50.
