Collection from city’s public markets also posts growth-A A +A

TOTAL revenue collection from public markets posted a double digit increase during the first five months of 2014, data obtained from the Davao City Economic Enterprise (CEE) showed.
Data showed that from January to May of this year, the collection reached P40.39 million, representing an increase of 16.6 percent as compared to the same period last year with total collection of P34.64 million.
Public markets under CEE include Agdao, Bankerohan, Toril, Mintal, Calinan, Tibungco, Bunawan, and Lasang.
Bankerohan public market posted the highest revenue collection with P13.66 million, followed by Agdao public market with P11.44 milliion and Toril public market with P9.42 million.
Collection in other public market are: Calinan with P3.36 million, Mintal with P1.7 million, Bunawan with P412,000.22, Tibungco with P379,296.38, and Lasang with P18,489.76.
Also, as of the first five months of this year, all public markets in the city, except for Lasang, experienced an increase in their collections.
Bankerohan market's collection went up from P11.66 million in 2013 to P13.66 milllion this year; Agdao from P9.7 million to P11.44 million; Toril from P7.99 million to P9.42 million; Calinan from P3.19 million to P3.36 million; Mintal from P1.57 million to P1.7 million; Bunawan from P157,604.4 to P412,000; and Tibungco from P331,581.9 to P379,296.38.
Lasang's collections went down from P20,573.1 in 2013 to P18,489.76 this year.
Total collection of all the public markets last year registered at P81.96 million. The bulk of last year's collection was fueled by the Bankerohan public market at P28.97 million. Agdao (P23.6 million) and Toril (P17.98 million) also helped fueled the revenue collections of last year.
