10,000 visitors eyed in 2014 Philconstruct

SOME 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the 2014 Philconstruct Mindanao, slated for opening today, August 4, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.

The organizers are expecting visitors coming from all-over Mindanao to attend the three-day event to update themselves of latest innovations and trends in the construction industry from 82 companies.

"We are staging Philconstruct in Mindanao because they want those in Mindanao to experience and to be able to get hold of the latest trends, innovations, and technology in the construction industry without going to Manila," said Manolito Madrasto, general manager of Philconstruct Events, Exhibitions, & Conferences Corp. (PEECC), during the press launch last week.

Organizers also said the event will give those in the construction industry in Mindanao the opportunity to network and engage with other players in the industry from Luzon to Mindanao.

Aside from the products that will be displayed during the event, the Technoforum Mindanao will also be staged featuring the latest updates and trends in the construction industry particularly opportunities and challenges in the Asean Economic Community 2015.

Other topics seminars include: Authorized Managing Officers Seminar; Updated Traffic City Regulation Seminar; Effective Contracts Administration ­ Avoidance and Early Resolution of Disputes; Briefing on Equipment and Maximum Load Capacity; Briefing on Equipment Maximum Load Capacity; Construction Workers Safety and Health Orientation; and Tax Updates on the Recent Changes and Developments in Taxation.

Wilfredo Guerzon Jr., Technoforum Mindanao 2014 chair, said the seminars will be a venue for industry professionals to share their knowledge and best practices with each other.
