Comforts of home at D'Leonor Hotel-A A +A
Sunday, January 9, 2011
A GUEST from Manila wrote it quite accurately. Despite being located right in the heart of Davao City, you will not hear any noise from the outside when you stay at the D' Leonor Hotel.
But that is not just what makes this hotel unique. Each room, or suite, as they rightfully call it, comes with two toilets and baths, a living room and a dining area with kitchen appliances where guests can cook.
"It's pretty much like a condotel with a hotel setting," Eizabeth Bacalso, D'Leonor Hotel operations manager says.
Its 37 rooms is spread in three different floors along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, each offering the complete amenities and the comforts of home.
"Swerte kami kasi strategic ang location namin," she says.
Plans for expansion are underway next year as there is still a vast vacant space.
Bacalso says that the bulk of their clients since they opened in November 2010 are weddings and seminars.
"We belong to the category of small hotels in the downtown area and our guests always leave satisfied," she says.
Bacalso, who has been in the hospitality business for more than two decades, says that her joys emanate from the joys of satisfied guests.
"Ang sarap ng feeling kapag sinasabi ng guests na ang sarap ng food dito, ang ganda ng arrangement. Ang sarap pakinggan," she said.
Bacalso says that each guest is their primary concern.
"Ginagawan ng paraan kung ano ang gusto nila," she said.
The hotel looks small from the outside but each suite is at least 40 square meters, space that is big enough for a socialized housing unit. The Presidential and Executive suites have even bigger spaces, with 55 square meters each.
D'Leonor Hotel has five different suites: Business, Junior, Superior, Executive and Presidential. It also has the Garden Cafe, a coffee shop at the ground level which is Wi-fi ready and a function hall which can easily accommodate 300 to 400 persons. Overnight guests also enjoy a free plate-in breakfast.
"But our rates are affordable and the location is a major plus. The suites are not just functional but it is a place to relax, like your home away from home," Bacalso says.
The owners of the hotel are set to open D'Leonor Resort, an inland resort in Cabantian, which comes with a huge wave pool, anytime this year.
"Construction is underway and we plan to package this hotel with the resort. We are coming up with interesting packages for our guests as soon as the resort opens," she said.
D'Leonor Hotel is right across Victoria Plaza in Bajada, with telephone numbers 221-1160, 222-3685 and email address at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Ana Felicia Dulay)
