HOMEGROWN retail giant, NCCC Group of Companies, continues to embark on expansion efforts this year, opening more retail outlets in Davao City and nearby areas in a bid to offer products and services closer to its target market.

Before the year ends, NCCC is set to open two more branches of one of its business units, the Health and Beauty in 1 or HB1, which offers health, wellness and pharmaceutical products.

To open next month, according to Aileen Gajo, NCCC Public Relations Council administrator, are HB1 outlets at El Rio Subdivision in Davao City and another in Panabo City.

"To open first is HB1's 17th branch at El Rio, followed by our 18th branch in Panabo," Gajo told Sun.Star Davao at the sideline of Kanegosyo Congress on September 15, Kanegosyo increases attendees.

Meanwhile, over 5652 registered Kanegosyo and Rewards Plus card members from Davao City, Tagum City and Davao del Norte attended the annual Kanegosyo Congress, exceeding gate attendance from last year's 4,062, in an event where wholesalers get exclusive rates and packages they can use for their businesses.

On its last day on September 18, the Negosyante Awards, held at NCCC Mall Davao's Activity Center, handed plaques of recognition and various gift items.

Award hosts were Asia's Pop Idol Christian Bautista and Una Ka Bai's news anchor Sarah Hilomen.

"Nalipay ko sa benepisyo nga nakuha nako sa padayon nakong pamalit sa NCCC," said Moralina Cabuntia, a loyalty awardee who, with Julieta M. Subang and Alme C. Amion, regularly purchases 90 percent of her store inventory from NCCC Supermarkets.

Davao City residents Annabelle Repulles, Ma. Leynette Reyes and Angelito Mendez from Tagum City received the power purchases award. These awardees posted high percentage growth in their purchases in 2009.

Kanegosyo members who have achieved the highest growth in purchases within the shortest period are Virgie Escoton, Ronulfo Polentinos from Davao City and Amily Araneta from Tagum City.

Now on its 10th year, the NCCC's Kanegosyo Congress is an exclusive event held yearly for the chain's loyal cardholders. The four day event started September 15 with Mayor Sara Duterte leading the ceremonies.

The city mayor cited that the growth of the city banks on the entrepreneurs who move an area's economic activities, "dili lang para sa garantisado ang inyong pag-asenso kung dili para sa benepisyo nato tanan."

Also awarded were 30 NCCC Supermarket wholesalers from Davao and Tagum cities, while NCCC Department Store honors 10 awardees.
