NINETEEN new plantilla positions are now open at Davao City Hall for qualified Dabawenyos to apply for.

This was made possible through the passage of the ordinance entitled "upgrading, reclassifying and creating new plantilla positions in the City Government's structure and staffing pattern" in the City Council last Tuesday.

The vacant positions under the City Accountant's Office include: one Information Technology Officer II, one Information Technology Officer I, one Computer Programmer III (existing), one Computer Programmer II, one Computer Maintenance Technologist III, and two Computer Maintenance Technologist II.

For Museo Dabawenyo, which is directly under the City Mayor's Office, the vacancies are the following: one Museum Curator I, two Museum Researcher II, one Artist Illustrator III, and one Museum Researcher I.

The Davao City Treatment & Rehabilitation Center for Drug Dependents and the City Social Services & Development Office are also in need of the following: one Social Welfare Officer III, one Social Welfare Officer II, two Manpower Development Officer II, one Social Welfare Assistant, and one Administrative Aide IV (Driver II).

The management of the Gender-Sensitive Crisis Intervention Center was also transferred from the City Health Office to the City Social Service Development Office.

Councilor Peter Laviña, chair of the City Council's committee on appointments and reorganization, said the measure was made in line with the city's policy to institute a structure that would provide better service and promote efficiency in the government.

Laviña said since the 1996 reorganization of the City Government, there has been no changes and addition to the plantilla of personnel in the various departments and offices of the City Government.

"Mayor Rodrigo Duterte wrote the City Council last November 10, 2008 proposing the upgrading, reclassification and creation of new plantilla positions in four departments involving 19 positions," Laviña said. (Grace L. Plata)
