DAVAO City fighters Jog Alim, Rocky Sardido and Jay-Ar Mendoza won their bouts in the just-concluded Bakbakan Showdown II at the Mati Cultural Center.
Alim and Sardido of the Vic Adriano Stable scored contrasting wins in the event co-presented by VJA Sports Promotions and ZK International Promotions.

Alim pulled off a TKO win against Charlie Lamila of Ebale Boxing Stable Bislig City as the latter quit to fight barely two minutes and 17 seconds left in the first round of their six-round 112 pounds (lbs) clash.
Sardido, on his part, beat Roel Honor of Bernard Yu Stable via unanimous decision in the 109 lbs eight-rounder, while Mendoza of the Vic Quimbao Stable also registered a TKO win over Mati Boxing Gym's Richard Soriano, 1:58 left in the first round of their four-round 118 lbs encounter.
Ricky "Tyson" Sabia of the Zander Khan Boxing Stable in JAS, Davao del Sur and Jan Jan Claveria of Digos City's American Boxing Stable drew their 10-round 110 lbs bout, while ZK's Hermie Benito of Caburan, Davao del Sur subdued Mati Boxing Gym's Dodong Arcenal, 1:58, in the first round of the four-round 108 lbs event.
Datu Dave Day of ZK overcame Gary Macalan in a TKO victory with 1:55 left in the third round of the four-round 120 lbs category.
Mati pugs Erico Labi and Robert Aguilar, however, lost their fights. Labi lost to Alberto Abesia in a TKO match, 2:50 left in the fourth and final round while Aguilar bowed to Jayson McGura in a TKO, 1:47 left in the first round of their fourth-round collision.
In the special attraction, female boxer Cheraly Dagit of the Vic Adriano Stable stopped Jennifer Lascuna of the Andi Mori Stable via TKO with 1:37 to go in the first round of the four-rounder bout. (MLSA)
