DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte posted two videos in his Facebook (FB) account that elicited various reactions from FB fanatics.

The two videos he posted around noon of November 7 were the videos of the Camus Boyz in their "budots dance."

With a comment like "atay", Duterte’s two video posts drew funny reactions from Dabawenyos with only a few airing their concern on the way the teenage boys dance. Others, meanwhile, took the chance and pleaded to the mayor to run for another elective position come 2010.

The young boys are shown dancing inside an internet cafe with the customers not minding the dancing boys at all. Here are some of the comments posted on Duterte’s video post:

It may just be for fun or out of adoration, or it may also serve as a warning from the mayor on the resurgence of this kind of dance that has now become so widely popular that youngsters even form their own “budots and budats club.”

Budots dance was first noticed to have been danced by youngsters who live in the slums of Davao City few years back. It was popularized by Dabawenyo Reuben Gonzaga when he joined and won the Pinoy Big Brother celebrity edition where he taught his housemates the budots dance on national television.

Camus Boys, meanwhile, have been posting video of their budots dance in the internet for more than a year now and have made about four videos to date. The number of their viewers in Youtube has reached to almost 70,000 now. (BOT)
