The stars are coming as Kadayawan 2012 shifts to high gear

DABAWENYO fans are once again given the chance to witness their favorite stars performing live in Davao City's several shopping malls as the 2012 Kadayawan sa Dabaw shifts to high gear this week.

Shoppers are also treated to big deals and discounts in all items as premiere malls -- the Abreeza of the Ayala Malls, Gaisano Mall of Davao, SM City Davao and NCCC Mall of Davao -- embark on Kadayawan Big Sale that started on Monday until the festival's culminating activities on Sunday.
Giant networks, The GMA Network, Inc. and the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp,, are also set to bring in their biggest stars to entertain shoppers and Kadayawan revelers in a series of shows during the weekend.

Making this year's festival a star-filled event are television personalities who captaivated their Dabawenyo fans with their top-rating television shows. Winners of the television's reality shows will also be in town to perform that will sure delight their fans.

KAPUSO, KAPAMILYA SHOWS
Catch the lead stars of Kapuso and Kapamilya teleseryes in a series of mall shows that are expected to excite the fans.

The cast of GMA's primetime show Makapiling Kang Muli will be at SM City Davao Mall Grounds on August 19 for the GMA Kapuso Show, starting at 5 p.m.

The lead stars of the top-rating show, led by Richard Gutierrez, Mark Anthony Fernandez and Sarah Lahbati, will entertain the crowd with a song and dance number. Fans will also be given a chance to interact with the two, along with other stars of Makapiling Kang Muli, including TJ Trinidad and John Lapuz.

The lead stars of GMA's Sunday afternoon show, Together Forever, led by today's hottest young loveteam -- Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose, are also expected to make their fans swoon with their performances at the NCC Mall of Davao's Activity Center on August 17 for the Grand Kapuso Mall Show, starting at 4 p.m.

Their co-stars in the top-rating Sunday show -- Lexi Fernandez and Dabawenyo Steven Silva, Ultimate Survivor of GMA's reality show Starstruck -- will also perform during the shows.

Elmo, Julie Anne, Lexi and Steven are also the lead cast of GMA Film's offering Just One Summer, being shown in Davao City theaters.

On August 18, the stars of top-rating Kapuso primetime program One True Love, Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes, will also be performing at The Atrium of Gaisano Mall of Davao.

To give shoppers great entertainment while shopping, Abreeza will also present Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo in a great performance at the Activity Center of Abreeza Mall, starting at 5 p.m., on August 17.

On August 18, a huge crowd is expected as Kapamilya stars are also coming to the mall's Activity Center for Asap Rocks, ABS-CBN's Sunday noontime show.

The show's hosts and guests are expected to liven up the Kadayawan celebration as some of the best Kapamilya stars will also be performing on stage during the show.

Kapamilya hunk Paolo Avelino, of the famed teleserye Walang Hanggan, will also be performing at the Activity Center starting at 5 p.m. on August 19.

On August 18, catch Kapamilya hunks Pioolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson performing at SM City Mall Grounds, starting at 5 p.m., for the ABS-CBN Kapamilya Caravan. They will be joined by Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria, lead stars of ABS-CBN's top-rating morning show Please Be Careful With My Heart.

Also on August 18, go loco over Walang Hanggan stars Coco Martin and Julia Montes for the Kalingawan sa Kadayawan at the Activity Center of NCCC Mall of Davao, starting at 5 p.m. Young stars' Charee Pineda of Angelito: Ikalawang Yugto and Asap's Young JV will also perform during the show.

More teen fun is in store on August 19 also at NCCC Mall's Activity Center with housemates from PBB Teens Season 4. Alec, Tom, Ryan, Yves, Joj and Jai, Roy, Karen, and Kahit Puso'y Masugatan cast member and grand winner Myrtle. Plus, Pintada's Martin del Rosario will guest during the variety show to start at 5 p.m.

KADAYAWAN EVENTS

SM City Davao is also the venue of some of Kadayawan Festival's official events, including Sayaw Mindanao, set on August 14-16 at AM City Annex; Mindanao Travel and Tours Expo on August 17-19, also at The Annex; Moda Mindanao, showcasing the designs and collection of Mindanao's top fashion designers, on August 19 at SM Cinema 3.

Abreeza Mall also brings the Kadayawan Bounty Fest, featuring the best of Davao gardens. Plants sellers are given space where they can put their floral and plants/landscape display.

The event, being held at the Abreeza Boardwalk, along Starbucks at the Ground level on August 3-31, aims to showcase the natural beauty of Davao City -- its flowers, plants, gardening tools and equipment and landscape needs. The Kadayawan Baker's Fair at Abreeza also showcases Davao's sellers of best sweets, pastries and baking products. The week-long fair opened on Monday at the Third Floor fronting The Maze and Mags Boutique. A total of 15 exhibitors will showcase their most excellent products.

Organized by Davao Eco-crafts, in partnership with the Department of Tourism and Department of Trade and Industry, the Crafts Tourism Fair at Abreeza also highlights the city's best/export quality crafts (e.g. accessories, woven, tinalak...etc). The exhibit is being held at the Ground Floor, Supermarket Hallway until August 20.
